If you’ve been searching for a lower-carb bread that doesn’t taste like cardboard, this one might just surprise you. I put Abbott’s Bakery Lower Carb Bread through the full mum-life test — butter, toast, sandwiches, and all — to see if it actually holds up like the real thing.
Review
If you’re looking for keto-friendly bread, this isn’t it.
But if you want something lower in carbs that still tastes and feels like regular bread, this one’s a winner.
Each serve has around 16.9g of carbs, which is roughly half the carbs of standard supermarket loaves.
I made chicken sandwiches for lunch to see how it held up — and spreading the butter was the only challenge. The bread was too fresh, and the butter was straight from the fridge. Once I got it on, I added aioli, salad mix, cheese, and a hot chicken pattie. The sandwich stayed together really well, even with a warm filling.
This bread also toasts beautifully — golden edges, still soft in the middle.
So, do I love it?
Yes.
It’s not keto, but it’s tasty, it’s filling, and it feels like real bread — without the carb overload.
