This meditation is here for you whenever worry feels loud and your body feels heavy with stress. Read it slowly, line by line, as though each word is an anchor drawing you back to safety and calm.

Opening

Take a slow breath in, and let it fall out naturally.
No need to rush. No need to control.
Simply notice that you are here, in this moment, reading these words.
This is a space made only for you. Safe. Soft. Steady.
Repeat this for as long as you need.

Arriving in the Body

Bring your attention to your body right now.
Notice the weight of yourself where you’re sitting or lying.
Feel the ground holding you up.
You don’t need to do anything to earn this support.
The earth simply holds you. Always.

Let your shoulders drop, just a little.
Loosen your jaw. Unclench your hands.
Even a tiny release is enough.

Breathing Calmly

Now, bring your focus to your breath.
No need to change it — only notice it.
Imagine each inhale gathering the tension inside you.
And each exhale releasing it, like mist fading into the air.

You might silently say to yourself:
“Inhale, I notice.
Exhale, I let go.”

Repeat this for as long as it feels good.

Softening Anxiety

Anxiety often wants to pull us into “what if.”
But right now, we practice “what is.”
What is here?
The words in front of you.
The steady rhythm of your breathing.
The quiet presence of this moment.

Remind yourself gently:
“I am safe in this breath.
I am safe in this moment.”

Anchoring with the Senses

Choose one sense to anchor into.
Look around and notice three colours nearby.
Or listen and notice three sounds.
Or feel the texture of your clothing under your fingertips.

Let these small, ordinary details remind you:
Life is happening right here.
You are not lost. You are present.

Releasing Stress

Picture a bowl sitting in your lap.
This bowl is wide, sturdy, unbreakable.
Each time you exhale, imagine placing one worry into this bowl.
Big or small, it doesn’t matter.

Let the bowl hold them for you.
You don’t need to carry everything all at once.
For now, your only job is to breathe and let the bowl take the weight.

Compassionate Pause

Notice what has shifted, even if only slightly.
Maybe your shoulders are softer.
Maybe your breath feels longer.
Maybe your heart feels just a little less crowded.

Whatever has changed is enough.
And whatever hasn’t is also okay.
You are allowed to be exactly as you are in this moment.

Closing

When you feel ready, take one more deep breath in.
Hold it for a gentle pause.
Then let it go, fully and slowly.

Place a hand over your chest, if you like.
Feel the steady beat of your heart, proof of your resilience.

Say softly to yourself:
“I am safe.
I am enough.
I can begin again.”

Carry this calm with you. Not perfect, not permanent, but real.
It is yours to return to, whenever you need.
